Paris: Only One Night In...

A few weeks ago, when Bail and I finally got around to planning the leg of this journey we were taking together, I was off traveling other places... And left the research to Bail. I felt badly about it. But, I knew that she would come up with awesome plans. And since it was her birthday trip we were taking, it was really best left in her hands to come up with something awesome.

And she did. But not before, as part of her research, Googling "One night in Paris" to see what one could do in Paris for just one night. (Note: Please don't Google that, people.)

"AHHH!" screamed the instant messenger. "I can't un-see what I have seen! I need bleach for my eyes!"

I laughed.

"I take it that you didn't realize that was also the name of Paris Hilton's porno flick?" I asked.

She had not. But like the professional digital marketer that she is, she regrouped and pressed onward, and she found a number of great things to do for all the parts of our trip. And this afternoon, we left London via the Eurostar to Paris. By 7pm, we were walking the stretches of the Quai Branly to see the Eiffel Tour.

We crossed over and headed up through the Jardins du Trocadero...

We were taking in the gorgeous Spring evening setting in before us.

And then up the steps by the Theatre National de Chaillot...

We eventually settled in for dinner at a cafe off of Avenue Georges V. Night settled in as we ate and took in sights of the Eiffel Tower from where we were sitting...

Then we walked out of the restaurant, past le Metro...

And decided to just make the 20 minute walk back by foot. It took us directly under the tower, which was celebrating it's 125th celebration since opening in 1899. It happened on March 31st, this very day.

Another charming European evening. But only for one night.
